What you'll do and what success looks like in this role:
- Stay up to date on changes in regulations and industry standards that impact the Bank's operations.
- Evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on business practices and communicate findings.
- Regularly assess the bank's adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and update compliance policies.
- Ensure that policies are effectively communicated and understood by employees.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on their compliance requirements and responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, violations, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports as required.
What Is Required and What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Law, or Finance. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) are a plus.
- Proven experience (0-2 years) in a compliance role, preferably in a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
