Role Description The Assistant Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for supporting sales growth and business development for HDFC Life's insurance products. This role involves managing and motivating a team of sales representatives or financial consultants, helping them achieve individual and team sales targets, and ensuring adherence to company sales processes. The Assistant Sales Manager will actively participate in lead generation, customer meetings, and presentations, while building strong relationships with clients and distribution partners. Responsibilities include tracking sales performance, preparing reports, analyzing market trends, and providing feedback to optimize sales strategies. The role also requires coordinating with internal teams for smooth policy issuance, resolving customer queries, and supporting training and coaching initiatives to enhance sales capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, client relationship management, and achievement of revenue targets.
  • Knowledge of insurance or financial services products, with the ability to understand protection, savings, investment, and retirement solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with capability to conduct presentations, negotiate with stakeholders, and collaborate across teams.
  • Team management and leadership abilities, including coaching, performance monitoring, and motivating sales teams or consultants.
  • Analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in using MS Office or similar tools to track sales metrics and prepare management reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in sales, preferably in insurance, banking, or financial services, and familiarity with local Mumbai market dynamics.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, resilience under pressure, and readiness
