Job Description
Are you organised, commercially minded, and experienced in managing purchasing operations within a fast-paced hospitality environment
As Assistant Purchasing Manager at Zumana, you will support the Purchasing Manager in ensuring that the right products, materials, and supplies are available at the right quality, quantity, timing, and cost. You will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain a smooth and efficient procurement process across the operation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that effective purchasing is about more than finding the best price — it is about building reliable supplier relationships, maintaining quality, and supporting the business with smart purchasing decisions.
What You'll Experience
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
You will support the Purchasing Manager in managing daily procurement activities, ensuring that purchasing requirements from relevant departments are processed accurately and on time.
You will communicate with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and other purchasing requirements. You will also assist in sourcing new suppliers, comparing quotations, negotiating where appropriate, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Working closely with Finance, Operations, Kitchen, F&B, and other departments, you will help ensure that products and supplies meet the required specifications and are delivered according to operational needs.
You will also assist with purchase orders, purchasing records, invoice verification, and other procurement documentation. Regular monitoring of pricing, supplier performance, stock availability, and purchasing trends will help identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
You will ensure that purchasing activities follow company policies, procedures, and required quality standards, while supporting the Purchasing Manager in improving procurement processes when needed.

Could This Be You
- Do you have experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or a similar role, preferably within hospitality, F&B, or the hotel industry
- Do you have experience managing suppliers and negotiating prices or purchasing terms
- Are you confident comparing quotations and evaluating products based on quality, price, and availability
- Are you detail-oriented when handling purchase orders, invoices, and procurement documentation
- Do you have strong communication and negotiation skills
- Can you build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Are you comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and purchasing or inventory systems
- Do you have a strong understanding of cost control and purchasing efficiency
- Are you organised and able to manage multiple purchasing requirements at the same time
- Are you comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment
