The Assistant Manager, Warehouse & Logistics plays a critical role in overseeing day-to-day operations within the warehouse and logistic processes. This position involves the management of goods movement, from receiving, storing to shipping, and ensuring operations in compliance with internal standards and industry regulations. The role involves supervising warehouse and logistic teams, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing space utilization, inbound and outbound deliveries, and supporting continuous improvement in warehouse and logistics performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse
- Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, inspection, storage, handling and dispatch of all raw materials, finished goods and spare parts
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of documentation for incoming and outgoing goods, including stock labelling and system updates.
- Implement and improve warehouse strategies, policies, and procedures to support overall operational goals.
- Ensure effective warehouse layout and optimize space usage while considering future capacity requirements.
- Managing materials shelf life by tracking expiration dates and implementing procedures to minimize the risk of materials expiring or deteriorating
- Support the implementation and maintenance of warehouse standards in line with company quality systems and industry compliance.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and system audits.
- Investigating and resolving any inventory discrepancies found during cycle counts
Logistic
- Overseeing the inbound and outbound deliveries and ensuring the goods reach the right place at the right time and cost-effectively
- Monitor and analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of documentation for domestic, export and import deliveries and comply with regulations.
- Coordinate logistics support for internal departments and external parties as required.
General
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Develop and lead implementation for cost down, optimizations and innovations activities
- Lead and develop team member to ensure a productive and safety-focused work environment.
- Willing to do ad hoc assignment or take up cross function support
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse and logistic or supply chain management, preferably in the tobacco or FMCG industry.
- In-depth knowledge of tobacco raw materials, storage conditions, and quality inspection standards will be an advantage
- Hands-on experience in tobacco warehouse operations is highly preferred.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Knowledge in ERP system will be an advantage
- Knowledge in export and import procedure and regulations
- Knowledge in Custom & Excise system & regulation will be an advantage
- Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills.
