Assistant Manager, Compliance (Assurance and Special Projects)

About the Job

The Assistant Manager will play a dual role in compliance assurance review and data analytics, supporting the Company in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements while leveraging data-driven insights to enhance risk identification, monitoring and decision-making. This role involves executing risk-based compliance reviews as well as developing and applying data analytics solutions to strengthen surveillance, improve efficiency and support compliance management.

Key responsibilities:

• Support and execute risk-based compliance assurance reviews, including planning, fieldwork, testing and reporting, to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify gaps or improvement areas.
• Conduct root cause analysis on identified issues and develop practical, value-added recommendations.
• Leverage data analytics tools to enhance compliance risk identification, monitoring and review processes.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, data models and analytical reports (e.g. Tableau, Big Data Platform) to support compliance monitoring and risk analysis.
• Perform data-analysis and risk profiling (e.g. trend analysis, KRI profiling) to identify patterns, anomalies and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with Analytics / Data Science teams to support the development and enhancement of analytical and predictive models.
• Support the integration of automation and analytics into compliance workflows, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
• Engage with Business Units (BUs) and Analytics / Data Science teams to align on findings, insights and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Prepare clear and well-supported outputs (arising from review observations and data insights), in line with established standards.
• Undertake ad-hoc analyses and other assignments as directed by the Head of Division and/or the Management.

We are looking for people who

• Degree or above in Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in compliance or data analysis, preferably within insurance or financial services industry.
• Hands-on experience in data analytics / visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
• Knowledge in SQL, data modelling, data preparation or analytics tools is an advantage.
• Ability to translate data into practical business and compliance insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• High level of integrity, with strong accountability of work and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
• Good written and communication skills and is able to engage constructively with stakeholders.
