Assistant HSE Manager (Chemical)

Role Description The Assistant HSE Manager (Chemical) is a full-time, on-site role based. This position supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs within chemical process operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, coordinating safety inspections, overseeing incident reporting and investigation, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The role also involves organizing HSE trainings, promoting a strong safety culture, and collaborating with operations teams to identify and mitigate hazards. The Assistant HSE Manager (Chemical) works closely with senior HSE leadership to improve systems and performance across the site.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, particularly within chemical or process manufacturing environments.
• Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management, including implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
• Skills in Accident Investigation and incident analysis, with the ability to recommend and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Ability to design and deliver HSE-related Training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for diverse operational teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with relevant local and international HSE regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or equivalent frameworks).
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams and influence safe work practices.
