Job Description

Our client, a leading player in the natural organic coconut industry, is currently seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager to oversee their ProductPreparation Department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the end-to-end production process within the coconut industry, identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, working closely with managers and staff to ensure seamless day-to-day activities.
  • Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food processing cleanliness standards.
  • Guarantee consistent product quality to meet the highest industry benchmarks.
  • Review and update Departmental Operations Manuals for executive approval.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and ingredients.

2. Financial Management & Administration


  • Collaborate with Department Managers to develop annual operating budgets.
  • Monitor departmental costs and implement measures to control expenses within a 5% deviation threshold.
  • Analyze monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, forecasts, and inventory turnover in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) plans and future business strategies.
  • Ensure all operational reporting to the COO/CEO is accurate, timely, and includes status updates on maintenance and achievements.

3. Training & People Development


  • Mentor and develop managers and assistant managers to foster independent decision-making and leadership.
  • Implement comprehensive training programs to maximize productivity and ensure compliance with company guidelines and local legislation.
  • Establish succession plans and organize team-building initiatives to maintain a motivated workforce.

Required Qualifications & Competencies


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Economics, Engineering, or a related technical field from a reputable university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Coconut Plantation or Processing industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional familiarity with SAP systems and a deep understanding of hygiene product handling.
  • Leadership Style: A firm yet fair management approach with high influencing skills and a walk the talk mentality.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs and personal hygiene standards.
  • Language: Fluency in both oral and written English.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours as required to meet operational demands.
