As we sharpen our focus on category growth and commercial excellence, we are looking for an analytically sharp and commercially curious finance professional to join our team as Assistant Category Finance Manager.
About the Role
As Assistant Category Finance Manager, you will serve as the financial business partner to our Marketing and Commercial teams — bringing rigor, clarity, and strategic perspective to every investment decision. From tracking category P&L to evaluating campaign ROI and supporting pricing strategy, you will sit at the heart of how we grow our brands profitably across Indonesia.
This role goes beyond reporting. We are looking for someone who challenges assumptions, connects the dots between brand investment and business outcomes, and makes Finance a function that Marketing and Sales genuinely want in the room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly P&L tracking for assigned categories — explaining gross margin variances across volume, price, mix, and cost dimensions
- Track A&P spend vs. budget in real time, managing accruals and ensuring accurate month-end provisions
- Evaluate campaign and promotion ROI post-execution, connecting spend to incremental volume and gross profit outcomes
- Partner with Marketing on brand investment planning and challenge allocation decisions to maximize commercial return
- Support the Sales and Commercial teams with channel profitability analysis across GT, MT, and e-commerce
- Collaborate with commercial stakeholders on net revenue analysis — understanding the impact of price, mix, and trade spend per case
- Build scenario models to support commercial decisions such as promo depth analysis, new channel entry, and SKU rationalization
- Support the Annual Operating Plan cycle by building bottom-up category financials with Marketing and commercial inputs
- Maintain working knowledge of COGS structure and flag commodity-driven margin risks to relevant stakeholders
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance, Controlling, or FP&A — preferably within an FMCG or consumer goods environment
- Strong P&L literacy — able to read, build, and clearly explain a category income statement
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems for actuals extraction and cost center management
- Comfortable presenting financial findings to non-finance audiences with clarity and confidence
- A genuine curiosity about how pricing, mix, and trade investment shape commercial outcomes — and an eagerness to grow in this space — will set you apart
- Basic curiosity about supply chain cost drivers and how COGS movements affect category margins
- CPA, CMA, or CIMA certification (completed or in progress) is a plus
