Job Description

The Assistant Accounting Manager supports the Accounting Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient workflow within the accounting team. This role assists in supervising staff, reviewing financial transactions, preparing reports, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger postings.
  • Monitor and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the accounting system.

Internal Controls & Process Improvements

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial and accounting controls.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and audit requirements.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and guide accounting staff in day-to-day tasks.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Support the Accounting Manager in managing workloads and improving team productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 57 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in audit or corporate accounting preferred.
