Job Description

Position Summary

The ASPOL Hub Lead provides strategic leadership and coordination for the ASPOL Hub, ensuring effective implementation of programme priorities across participating countries and thematic workstreams.

The position plays a central role in connecting WWF offices, programme partners, donors, and technical experts to strengthen collaboration, programme delivery, knowledge sharing, and achievement of regional objectives.

This is a regional coordination role requiring excellent programme management, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Management and Coordination

  • Drive implementation and coordination of ASPOL Hub activities and priorities.
  • Facilitate collaboration among six participating country teams and relevant programme stakeholders.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across multiple workstreams and programme areas.
  • Support governance processes and ensure effective coordination among participating offices.
  • Organize and chair Hub coordination meetings.
  • Ensure alignment of Hub activities with ASPOL programme objectives and donor expectations.

2. Strategic Coordination and Technical Support

  • Connect participating teams with relevant WWF network expertise and technical resources.
  • Support development and implementation of the Game Changer and Policy Advocacy workstreams.
  • Support identification and management of programme risks, delivery issues, and emerging priorities.
  • Apply adaptive management approaches to support programme effectiveness.
  • Facilitate access to technical expertise across the WWF Network.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with WWF offices, donor representatives, programme partners, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regional collaboration and cross-country learning.
  • Support strategic engagement activities that strengthen programme visibility and impact.

4. Strategy, Planning, and Budget Coordination

  • Support strategic planning processes across ASPOL workstreams.
  • Coordinate development and implementation planning activities.
  • Monitor implementation progress against agreed priorities and milestones.
  • Manage and monitor Hub budget allocation and utilization.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate monitoring and reporting across programme workstreams.
  • Prepare high-quality quarterly progress reports and implementation updates.
  • Maintain programme documentation and evidence of programme impact.
  • Strengthen knowledge management systems and facilitate learning across participating countries.

Qualification

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Master's degree in environmental management, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development, Agriculture, Forestry, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.
  • A Bachelor's degree combined with substantial relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex regional or multi-country programmes.
  • Experience working on sustainability, conservation, agriculture, responsible supply chains, or palm oil-related initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders across government, private sector, NGOs, donors, and technical partners.
  • Experience managing donor-funded programmes and reporting against programme objectives.
  • Experience in strategic planning, budget management, monitoring and evaluation, and adaptive programme management.
  • Excellent programme and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation capabilities.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a complex regional programme.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
