Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Build, train, and mentor a high-performing team of field sales representatives. Provide daily guidance, conduct shadowing sessions in the field, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement aggressive field sales strategies and territory plans to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual SMB acquisition and revenue targets.
- Merchant Acquisition & Relationship Management: Lead by example in identifying, pitching, and negotiating with key SMB prospects. Build strong, long-lasting relationships with local business owners.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor team KPIs, pipeline health, and conversion rates. Generate regular performance reports and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to optimize the sales process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure seamless merchant onboarding, address localized feedback, and tailor promotional campaigns to the SMB market.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and analyze on-the-ground market trends, customer pain points, and competitor activities to continuously refine sales pitches and project strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, with at least 2 years in a direct team management role.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven track record of success in the tech, e-commerce, SaaS, or digital platform industries, with a deep understanding of the local SMB landscape.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and scale a field-based sales team in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Communication: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence both team members and external stakeholders.
- Analytical capability: Strong data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Excel/Google Sheets for tracking and forecasting.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and spend a significant portion of time in the field alongside the sales team.
