Role Description
This is a freelance, hybrid role for an Architect based in Bali, Indonesia (monthly retainer basis).
The role focuses on developing 2D and 3D drawings, translating design direction into clear, and contributing to the progression of projects across different scales and types.
The role requires in-person coordination 2x per week (Tuesday & Friday, Ubud area) and consistent weekly availability. This position is not suited for occasional or side work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Principal in developing design concepts and proposals
- Prepare 2D drawings across project stages.
- Build and manage 3D models.
- Produce basic renderings for internal and client reviews.
- Support basic technical resolution, including structural and MEP considerations.
- Organize and prepare project documentation, including material/finishes schedules, door/window schedules, and basic specification or quantity lists.
- Assist coordination with consultants, contractors, and vendors through drawings and documentation updates.
- Participate in site visits or meetings when required to review design progress and implementation.
- Stay informed on materials, construction methods, and relevant design practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Architecture
- Proficient in ArchiCAD, SketchUp, AutoCAD
- Rendering skills are a plus (Lumion preferred, others acceptable)
- Familiar with tools such as Trello and Google Workspace
- Good design sensibility with technical awareness
- Able to work across various architectural scale and type
- Reliable, responsive, and able to work on multiple projects
- Based in Bali
- Able to communicate in English is preferred
Working Structure
- Hybrid (remote + on-site in Ubud)
- In-person coordination: 2x/week (Tuesday & Friday)
- Expected availability: 46 hours/day equivalent (output-based)
Compensation
- Monthly retainer (based on experience)
- Performance-based bonus (per project, based on milestones)
