Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer (AS400) to support critical business applications and UAT operations. This role is responsible for monitoring and executing End-of-Day (EOD) processes, supporting UAT activities, troubleshooting application issues, and ensuring smooth operation of business-critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong AS400 experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a 24/7 shift environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and execute application-related EOD processes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for both project and BAU initiatives.
- Handle application support requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor application performance and investigate system issues.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and escalate incidents when required.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support UAT and production-related activities.
- Ensure scheduled jobs and batch processes are completed successfully.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate incidents, risks, and resolutions to relevant teams.
- Follow operational procedures and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, UAT Support, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i (mandatory).
- Good understanding of application support processes and incident management.
- Familiarity with UAT processes and testing lifecycle.
- Experience in monitoring EOD and batch processing activities.
- Familiarity with Ctrl-M or other enterprise job scheduling tools is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
- Willing to work in a 24/7 shift environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
