Tiger Water Solutions offers high quality steel pipe and has been appointed distributor of Victaulic mechanical pipe joining systems for the Indonesian mining sector. Victaulic is the global inventor of the grooved coupling — a technology that replaces welding, flanging, and HDPE fusion with faster, safer, mechanically-joined piping systems used worldwide in mine dewatering, tailings, slurry, process water, and paste backfill applications.
We are hiring a Technical Sales Engineer to sell our pipe and grow Victaulic adoption across Indonesian mining operations. You will be the bridge between Victaulic's engineering-led product portfolio and mine site decision-makers — project engineers, maintenance superintendents, EPC contractors, and procurement teams. Success means new specifications, new accounts, and demonstrable value delivered to clients through faster installation, lower downtime, and safer joining methods.
What you'll actually do
- Identify and develop opportunities at mine sites, EPC contractors, and consulting engineers designing mining infrastructure
- Conduct on-site product demonstrations — including live coupling installation demos that prove the speed and simplicity claims
- Deliver technical presentations to mixed audiences: engineers who want the data, and operations managers who want the business case
- Read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, and bills of materials to scope opportunities and prepare quotes
- Specify the right Victaulic product for each application — couplings, fittings, valves, gaskets — based on media, pressure, temperature, and pipe material
- Work with Victaulic's regional applications engineering team on complex or non-standard requirements
- Build long-term relationships with mine engineering and maintenance teams; become their trusted advisor on mechanical pipe joining
- Support tender responses with technical content, drawings, and submittals
- Maintain a sales pipeline in CRM and report progress weekly
- Attend industry events and represent Tiger Water at mining conferences and exhibitions
Must-have requirements
- Engineering degree — mechanical, mining, metallurgical, civil, or chemical engineering preferred
- Working English — able to read technical documentation, write professional emails, and hold a video call with Victaulic regional teams in Singapore or Australia. Bahasa Indonesia native or fluent
- Confident presenter — comfortable standing in front of a room or at a mine site presenting to skeptical engineers
- Quick learner — Victaulic has a deep product catalog; you'll be expected to absorb it within a few months
- Valid Indonesian driver's license and willingness to obtain mine site inductions (MSHA-equivalent, site-specific)
- Located in Jakarta or surrounding area
Nice to have
- Prior experience selling to mining (pumps, valves, pipe, HDPE, fluid handling, dewatering equipment)
- Familiarity with HDPE fusion methods — you'll be displacing this practice
- Existing network in Indonesian mining: Freeport, Vale, Antam, Adaro, Bukit Asam, Berau Coal, Kideco, Harum Energy, MIND ID group, Merdeka Copper Gold, Amman Mineral, Weda Bay, IMIP/IWIP
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, basic Revit, or ability to read engineering drawings fluently
- Public speaking, training delivery, or technical writing experience
