An Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support in the selection, calculation, and application of pumps, valves, and piping systems according to project requirements.
Qualification
- Education & Background
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; 13 years of experience in pumps, valves, or piping systems is an advantage.
- Technical Competence
- Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, fluid dynamics, and pump/valve systems.
- Ability to perform sizing and selection of pumps/valves using software or manual calculation.
- Capable of reading and interpreting P&ID, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Hands-on ability in troubleshooting and basic maintenance of pumps/valves.
- Familiarity with international standards (API, NFPA, UL/FM, ASME, etc.) is a plus.
- Additional Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prepare technical presentations and deliver product training.
- Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
- Willing to travel for site visits or customer meetings.

Job Description
- Technical & Engineering Support
- Perform sizing, selection, and technical calculation for pumps/valves based on project requirements.
- Prepare technical data sheets, calculations, and technical proposals.
- Review and analyze project specifications and P&ID.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance Support
- Provide on-site troubleshooting for pump/valve performance issues.
- Support in maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with the service/aftersales team to resolve customer technical problems.
- Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Support
- Support the sales team in providing technical solutions to customers.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and consultants.
- Assist in technical surveys and site visits when required.
- Internal & External Coordination
- Coordinate with principals/suppliers regarding technical product requirements.
- Support project teams in technical evaluations and submittal documents.
- Collaborate with sales, project, and aftersales teams to ensure project success.
- Documentation & Training
- Prepare and maintain technical documents for internal and external use.
- Provide product technical training for internal teams and customers.
- Maintain technical data and product library up to date.
