Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Advanced Chemistry Teacher role based in Jakarta. The teacher will plan and deliver advanced chemistry lessons aligned with relevant curricula (such as IB, Cambridge, or national standards), ensuring lessons are rigorous, engaging, and appropriately differentiated. Daily tasks include preparing lesson materials, conducting laboratory-based and theoretical instruction, assessing student performance, and providing constructive feedback to learners and families where appropriate. The role involves designing assessments, maintaining accurate records of student progress, and contributing to curriculum development and enrichment activities. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and help create a safe, inclusive, and inquiry-driven learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong chemistry subject-matter expertise, including Advanced Chemistry and Chemistry Education, with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and accurately.
- Demonstrated experience in Teaching and Lesson Planning, including designing structured, inquiry-based, and differentiated learning experiences.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to engage students, collaborate with colleagues, and communicate clearly with parents and guardians when needed.
- Background in related STEM areas, such as Physics, is beneficial for interdisciplinary teaching and curriculum integration.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a closely related field; teaching certification or equivalent credential is preferred.
- Experience teaching advanced or pre-university chemistry (e.g., IB, Cambridge A Level, AP, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Ability to manage laboratory safety, implement practical experiments, and promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
