Role Description

Eastern Edge is looking for a Senior Tax & Accounting professional to take ownership of the company's accounting and tax functions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lombok, responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with Indonesian tax and accounting regulations.

The role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial closing. The Senior Tax & Accounting professional will prepare and analyse financial statements, monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide clear financial reporting to management and investors.

A key part of the role will be managing Indonesian tax compliance, including the preparation and review of tax calculations, filings, payments, and supporting documentation. The role will also coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and other professional partners when required.

Working closely with senior management and project teams, the Senior Tax & Accounting professional will provide financial insights for property acquisitions, development projects, project costing, cash flow planning, and investment decisions. The position will also be expected to identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure financial information is accurate, reliable, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting and finance operations
  • Maintain accurate general ledgers and accounting records
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Lead monthly financial closing and reporting processes
  • Manage Indonesian tax compliance, including tax calculations, filings, payments, and documentation
  • Monitor tax deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable Indonesian regulations
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax consultants, and auditors
  • Prepare cash flow reports and support budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management
  • Support financial due diligence for property acquisitions and development projects
  • Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and procedures
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting and reporting processes
  • Ensure financial records are properly organised and audit-ready

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and/or tax, preferably in a senior or supervisory position
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian taxation and accounting regulations
  • Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, AP and AR
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial management systems
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
  • Experience managing tax reporting and compliance in Indonesia
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial and tax matters
  • Experience in property, construction, real estate, or project-based businesses is an advantage
  • Experience working with external auditors, tax consultants, or professional advisors is a plus
  • Professional certification such as Brevet A/B, CPA, CA, or equivalent is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Indonesian
  • Willingness to work full-time, on-site in Lombok
