2D Generalist Intern (Illustration) / Remote

As we continue to expand our creative horizons, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic 2D Generalist Intern (Illustration) to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Character Design & Development: Create unique and compelling character designs that align with the project's vision and style. Develop characters from initial sketches to final illustrations. (Note: Non-Anime style)
- Concept Ideation: Generate strong and innovative concept ideas for characters, environments, and other visual elements. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative discussions.
- 2D Artwork Preparation: Prepare high-quality 2D artwork assets for use by the animation team. Ensure all assets are optimized and ready for animation, adhering to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Collaborative Work: Work closely with other artists, animators, and team members to ensure consistency and cohesiveness in the project's visual style. Take feedback and iterate on designs as needed.
- Learning & Development: Engage in continuous learning and skill development. Take advantage of mentorship opportunities and resources provided by the company to grow as an artist.
Requirements:
- Artistic Skills: Strong drawing and illustration skills, focusing on character design. A solid understanding of anatomy, proportions, and facial expressions. (Note: Non-Anime style)
- Free Hand Drawing: Exceptional free hand drawing skills, demonstrating versatility and creativity.
- Creativity: A knack for generating strong, original concept ideas and the ability to think outside the box.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery in using digital illustration tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software. Familiarity with preparing artwork for animation.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your skills in character design, concept art, and 2D illustrations. *Candidates without a portfolio will be automatically rejected.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with animation pipelines and understanding of how artwork is used in 2D animation.
- Familiarity with other design software and tools, such as After Effects or Toon Boom Harmony.
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant coursework/projects.
