Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Local Director to join the Board of our Indonesian payment entity on a part-time basis.

The Director will support the governance and regulatory oversight of the Indonesian entity and work closely with the company's management, Compliance, Risk, Legal and Finance functions to ensure the business operates in accordance with applicable Indonesian laws and Bank Indonesia (BI) requirements.

This is a part-time Board-level appointment requiring sufficient availability to effectively discharge the responsibilities of a Director and support regulatory matters when required.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a Director of the Indonesian legal entity and fulfil applicable statutory, fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities.
Participate in Board and management meetings and contribute to key corporate and regulatory decisions.
Provide oversight of the entity's business activities, governance, compliance and risk management framework.
Support compliance with applicable Bank Indonesia regulations and payment-system requirements.
Oversee the effectiveness of the company's AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC/CDD and financial crime controls.
Review and approve key policies, business plans, regulatory submissions and other matters requiring Director approval.
Monitor material regulatory, operational, financial and compliance risks affecting the Indonesian entity.
Support engagement with Bank Indonesia, auditors, banking partners and other relevant stakeholders where Director involvement is required.
Ensure significant regulatory or compliance matters are appropriately escalated and addressed.
Work closely with regional and global management while ensuring the Indonesian entity maintains appropriate local governance and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Domiciled in Indonesia and able to fulfil applicable local Director requirements.
Significant professional experience within payments, fintech, banking or regulated financial services.
Strong understanding of the Indonesian financial services and/or payment industry.
Familiarity with Bank Indonesia regulations and regulatory expectations relating to payment service providers is strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, sanctions, compliance and risk management.
Previous experience as a Director, senior executive, senior compliance/risk professional or senior management member within a regulated financial institution is preferred.
Demonstrated integrity, professional competence and sound judgement, with the ability to satisfy applicable regulatory suitability requirements.
Comfortable reviewing Board and regulatory materials and providing appropriate challenge and guidance to management.
Able to dedicate sufficient time to Board responsibilities, regulatory matters and ad-hoc meetings despite the part-time nature of the appointment.
