The Role

As a Compliance Associate, you will support EMQ's compliance activities in Indonesia and serve as the designated MLRO for the Indonesia entity. You will work closely with the Head of Compliance and the wider Global Compliance team on day to day regulatory, AML and risk related matters. While your primary focus will be Indonesia, you will also have opportunities to support compliance work across other EMQ entities and jurisdictions.

This role is suitable for someone who enjoys a broad compliance role, wants exposure beyond a single market, and is comfortable working in a fast moving payments environment.

Key Responsibilities

Indonesia Compliance and MLRO

• Support EMQ Indonesia in meeting its regulatory and AML obligations.

• Act as the designated MLRO and review escalated suspicious activity where required.

• Assist with regulatory reporting, filings and responses to regulatory enquiries.

• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and support updates to policies and procedures.

• Work with internal teams to address compliance issues and follow up on remediation actions.

AML and Risk Support

• Support customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence and transaction monitoring reviews.

• Assist with the assessment of higher risk customers, transactions and business activities.

• Escalate material compliance or financial crime concerns to the Head of Compliance.

• Support periodic compliance and risk assessments.

Wider EMQ Group Compliance Support

As part of the wider Global Compliance team, you will also assist the Head of Compliance and other Compliance colleagues with:

• Regulatory research and assessments.

• Customer and counterparty due diligence.

• Compliance reviews and risk assessments.

• Policy and procedure updates.

• Regulatory reporting, audits and information requests.

• Other compliance projects across the EMQ Group where support is required.

The intention is not for you to become an expert in every EMQ jurisdiction, but to develop broader exposure and contribute to the overall Compliance function as part of the team.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in compliance, AML, financial crime, payments, fintech or financial services.

• Familiarity with Indonesian AML and regulatory requirements.

• Experience with KYC, KYB, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reviews or regulatory reporting would be useful.

• Strong analytical and organisational skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable working with colleagues across different teams and jurisdictions.

• Able to manage multiple priorities while knowing when to escalate.

• High standards of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

Reporting Line

The role reports to the Head of Compliance and works as part of EMQ's Global Compliance team.
