A lot of questions flood our mind even before we take the initial step. Similarly, filing taxes for the first time can be intimidating for many people. One of the most common questions troubling a salaried tax filer is to find out the documents needed to file Income Tax Return. If you are filing your taxes for the first time, you do not need to worry because we have compiled a checklist for you.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Personal information related documents:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><br><\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u2022 PAN card<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u2022 Passport (when filing ITR 2A)<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u2022 Aadhaar card (when filing ITR 2A)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>For salary:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u2022 Form 16 (Part A, Part B and Form 12BA if applicable)<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u2022 If no tax was deducted at source then you may not get the Form 16. In such case you can either request a salary certificate from the employer or just keep your appointment letter and all your salary slip handy with you.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong> Form 16 is most important document for filing the tax return. You can download your Form 26AS from https:\/\/incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in\/.
